community know about the elections and the positions that are available for election.
Nyrma Navarro brought the point up the possibility of having no one to run for the Financial Secretary.
Deacon Fred Jones said we could make an exception, rather than not having anyone to run. Cynthia
Neve said she is working on a person to run for the position. She will follow up on it.
Board of Director Reports:
Lay Director: Shirley Nagle did not have anything to report.
Assistant Director: Nyrma Navarro did not have anything to report.
Financial Secretary: Cynthia Neve gave out copies of treasurer’s report. Nyrma Navarro mentioned that
Kitchen Leaders are not doing inventory before they make up their menus and not using inventory
supplies. The last men’s weekend kitchen leader did not turn in kitchen inventory.
Secretary: Orie Sanchez stated that the Reporting Format that was approved by the Board is not being
enforced to be used. She suggested that a copy be given to new Coordinators to give to their Kitchen
Leader. Also, the altar linens for the Chapel are not being put away correctly. She found them with the
soil towels and corporals. It costed $40.00 to have them dry cleaned because they were dry clean only.
She does not want a refund just wanted to make the Board aware so it can be passed to the
Coordinators...
Outside Palanca Coordinator: Absent.
Pre-Cursillo Coordinator: Phyllis Gogue apologized. She did not realize that she had to contact Parish
Representatives to give out information to their parishes about Cursillo Events. She will get the names
for her record.
Post Cusillo Coordinator: John Frost reported that monies that he received from the Board previously
were used to buy materials to do repairs to the Way of the Cross path at Elk.
Spiritual Director: Deacon Fred Jones still has lost and found items from the Women’s weekend that
includes a rooster and a maroon folding chair. He will take it to Ultreya. He reported on the priests as
follows: Father Lee is a contract priest. Father Tyson Wood is the senior pastor and is very helpful. He
gave Cursillo $500.00 from the Chaplain’s Fund for both weekends in 2008. He will probably be leaving in
Apr or May 2009. Father John Gabriel will be leaving Feb. 2009; Father Ken Carlson is in SCE combat unit
for one year. He speaks Spanish and will leave in Aug or Sept 2009. Father Mchael Dominic is a
Diocesan Priest and will be gone sometime in the summer of 2009. Father Mike Albano, Father Neilson,
and Father Raphael Eke from Nigeria will be coming back. They have a two year assignment, but he does
not know if when they come back if their time in Iraq will count towards their two year assignment.
The book that he uses during the weekends has not been found
Being no further business to discuss Deacon Fred lead us in closing prayer.
Next Board of Directors Meeting will be Saturday, Jan. 3, at 9:00 am at the 58th Street Chapel in Fort Hood.
