III. Minutes for February, submitted by Phyllis Gogue and March, submitted by Secretary, Orie
Sanchez: Deacon Fred Jones made a motion to accept February and March Minutes. Cynthia Neve
seconded it. Discussion-some changes were made. After corrections Motion carried.
IV. Old Business:
a. 25 Year Retreat Center: Shirley Nagle, Lay Director, said she will try to contact Liz Pechacek, the
owner, to discuss details about making the 25th anniversary of the Retreat Center.
b. Bulletin Announcement: Since we have a Pre-Cursillo Coordinator who contacts Parish
Representatives to put out the information at their perspective parish, the board saw no reason to make
this expense.
c. Elk Inventory: On April 5, 2008 Charl Munsey, Rosemary McDowell, Orie Sanchez, Nyrma Navarro,
and Phyllis Gogue will be doing the inventory.
d. Pilgrim Guides: They have not been ordered yet, however, Phyllis Gogue made up enough Pilgrim
Guides for the coming weekend. We will see what John Frost has to report on the next Board Meeting.
e. Mattress: Cursillo is not donating the mattresses. Cursillitas from the Community have donated
them. Shirley Nagle stated we should bring it up at Ultreya to see if anyone else would like to donate one
f. Coordinators for Fall/Spring: Will continue to pray for names on the list. Board members added
additional names to the list. Shirley Nagle stated she might have the names of the Co-Coordinators by
the end of April and finalize by May. Names will be announced at the Men’s closing.
g. Clean up team following Closura: It was decided that the Community Action Team would be the
leaders for the clean up.
V. Board Members Reports:
a. Lay Director: What she has comes under new business.
b. Assistant Lay Director: Will be going to Elk to do inventory on April 5, 2008.
c. Secretary: Charl Munsey asked me about the drivers for the weekend. I told her that Maria
Sanchez was the Pre-Cursillo Coordinator and she was taking care of it. She also asked for prayers and
gave me the names of new candidates to be added and the three names that had dropped. I will email
them to John Frost.
d. Financial Secretary: Submitted the report with no changes from last month.
e. Pre-Cursillo Coordinator: Maria Sanchez stated that she contacted all the Parish Representatives.
They all said that they would put the information about the Ultreya and the closure. She still needs
names of people to contact for drivers for the weekend. Deacon Fred Jones suggested bringing it up at
Ultreya and Nyrma Navarro suggested obtaining a roster with the member’s names for Maria to help her
to contact people and for future use. Shirley Nagle said she would get her one. Nyrma Navarro and Orie
Sanchez volunteered as drivers for the Men’s Weekend.
f. Post Cursillo Coordinator: Absent
g. Outside Palanca Coordinator: Absent
h. Spiritual Director: Deacon Fred Jones reported that we must turn in Attendance sheets to Father.
It is important for him to know the numbers. He himself turns in sheets for daily masses, Baptism, and
Marriage preparation classes. CTOP Money Meeting is coming up. I asked Angela to ask Father in June
to put in for the Men’s Weekend as much as he would allow us. He is now waiting to hear from them.
Father Gabriel is going to be in India the whole month of April which means Johnny, Father Gus, and I are
the whole team here. Father Gus is in a combat unit and has been showing up for daily Mass. If we do
have daily mass in April, it is going to be Father Gus. The government has prohibited us to have daily
services. So this is our Priest situation, our money situation, and he thinks the best thing we can do is to
keep Father Gabriel informed i.e. this meeting today, Ultreya, and other Catholic events. All numbers
need to look good so that Father can look good. He is really running the whole show and he is a 03. With
an installation this size we need a 06. Father is doing a great job. Nyrma Navarro suggested that we
invited Father Gabriel to a Board Meeting. Shirley Nagle said it was a good idea.
VI New Business:
a. Donut Sunday: Shirley Nagle stated that she has spoken to the Office at
Holy Family for Sept. 14, 2008 to be sponsored by Cursillo. The Youth
Group will sell breakfast tacos. She told Maria Sanchez that if she
wants to propose this to other Parish Representatives she could as
Shirley does not know what other parishes do to promote Cursillo. She
also suggested for Maria to invite the Parish Representatives to a
Board Meeting. The Board Meeting is open to anyone who wants to
Attend.
b. Picnic/25th Celebration: Sept. 7 came up as a date. This was table till
next meeting.
c. Parish Representatives: Inviting the Parish Representatives to a Board
Meeting will also be discussed at the next Board Meeting.
d. Fund Raiser: Not needed at this time.
Being no further business, Deacon Fred Jones closed with prayer. Our next
Next Board Meeting will be on Friday, May 2, 2008 at 7:00pm in Fort Hood,
Texas.
Respectfully Submitted,
Orie Sanchez
Secretary
