Board of Directors Meeting
November 30, 2007

MINUTES

The meeting was called to order by President, Linda Abrams at 6:15 P.M. at the 58th Street Chapel on Fort
Hood, Texas.

Deacon Jones led the commencement prayer.

Those present include:  Linda Abrams, Deacon Fred Jones, Shirley Nagle, Nyrma Navarro, John Frost,
Cynthia Neve, Barbara Krakowiak.
Members absent include:  Orie Sanchez and Phyllis Gogue.

Old Business:  The Fall Weekend men’s closing was very well attended.  There was discussion about the
difference between schedules for the women’s weekend and the men’s weekend, and the need to make
S.O.P. guidelines for the Aux and Assistant Aux on the men’s weekend.  Women have an Angel and Dean
of Piety with similar duties as the Aux and Assistant Aux.  The consensus was that the duties need to be
more clearly defined for the men’s team.  It was also noted that the Coordinator’s book was different than
the men had used before, and the discussion about how this came about lasted a few minutes.  The past
summer, Phyllis Gogue re-organized the materials and printed new booklets for the coordinators.

Board Member Reports:
Lay Director
There was discussion as to whether to allow a prospective team member who lives out of state to be on
team.  It was approved using certain guidelines and restrictions.
Lay Director will present guidelines and list of materials for the new men’s coordinator as soon as
materials are returned from the previous coordinator.

Assistant Lay Director:
Plans to go to the retreat center in February to take inventory and to return laundered items from
previous Cursillo weekend.

Secretary:
  Absent

Financial Secretary:
Provided detailed report of financial state following the Fall Cursillo weekends.  A total of $1,785.00 was
donated by the community as a result of the plea from the November Ultreya.  Financial Secretary
proposed that Fort Hood pay for the facility and priest, and HOT funds pay for the food for the Cursillo
weekends.  Discussion followed.

Pre-Cursillo Coordinator:
Spoke about the elections coming up in February, and stated that she and her husband would not be
running for re-election.  It was determined that word needs to be presented to community via Ultreya,
web-site and e-mail regarding positions coming open in February, 2008.

Post-Cursillo Coordinator:
Updated details were shared about the upcoming Epiphany Party to be held at 3 P.M. on January 6, 2008
at the Holy Family Social Hall in Copperas Cove.  Rehearsals for the play are being held, and money is
needed for materials and equipment.  Deacon made a motion that a $200.00 allowance be given to John
to purchase needed supplies.  Motion seconded by Nyrma and carried.

Outside Palanca Coordinator:
  Absent

Spiritual Director:
Deacon Jones spoke about his conversation with Mr. Alvarez, director of the Spanish speaking Cursillo
Movement in the Diocese of Austin, who was a guest at our November Ultreya, about how our weekends
are similar, and that our Leaders’ School is incorporated with team meetings.  The Agape is not a part of
the National Movement, but it was discussed how we do it and that it is a vital part of our weekend.  Mr.
Alvarez was invited to attend tonight’s meeting, but was unable to attend.  Deacon Jones would like to
discuss with him the facility at Jarrell, TX as far as cost and scheduling.
The priest situation is still bleak at Fort Hood.  Fr. Dan is leaving December 20; Fr. John, a Reservist,
will serve as Pastor; Fr. Gus will be coming back soon for about six months; and Fr. Ken Nielsen’s
deployment has been delayed to March 2008.
Holy Family Parish Administrator will be asked to order Pilgrim’s Guides for us.

The next Board of Directors Meeting will be held at 6 P.M. on Friday, January 4, 2008 at the conference
room of Holy Family Parish in Copperas Cove.

Meeting was closed at 7:35 P.M. with a prayer by Deacon Jones.

Respectfully submitted,

Shirley Nagle, Lay Director
For Secretary Orie Sanchez
